The municipality of Porto San Paolo and Loiri is stretching out from the east of Sardinia to the protected marine park of Tavolara. The area includes the countryside of Loiri and Porto San Paolo with its beaches.

Porto San Paolo, a former fishermen’s village has become a well known holiday village. It offers Residence and  hotels by the sea, parking lots, Car hire, motorbike hire, bike hire, guided excursions, bars, restaurants etc.

THE BEACHES

Porto San Paolo is located in the centre of the protected marine park Tavolara island. You can reach the beach of the island in a few minutes by boat, a paradise with white sand and crystal clear water in a stunning, mediterranean landscape awaits you there. You can make unforgettable boat trips to the inner of the park, visit the piscine di Molara, the beach of Porto Taverna and stay on the Tavolara island.

Other beautiful beaches like Porto Istana with its fine, white sand and the beautiful beach of Porto Taverna are not far from Porto San Paolo.

RESIDENCE AND HOTELS

There are a lot of Hotels and Residence in Porto San Paolo and its surroundings. Many guests prefer the accommodation in a Residence near the sea. Especially families with kids book a stay in a Residence, because the apartmens have also a kitchen.

In Porto San Paolo there are not so many Residence on the beach, we recommend you to book as soon as possible to get the best offer !

THINGS YOU NEED TO SEE AND DO IN PORTO SAN PAOLO !

Porto San Paolo offers a lot of activities: Snorkeling, diving, boat- or rubber boat trips, excursions in the countryside. There are snorkeling- and diving excursions to explore the underwater world of Tavolara, Cala Cicala, Secca del papa and the relitto dell’omega.

You can also go climbing on the Tavolara island. The hiking path is surrounded by cork oaks and juniper trees and leads you to Punta Cannona, the top of the island which is 565 mt high with a breathtaking view over the sea.

There are 3 different possibilities to reach the protected marine park of Tavolare: the ferry boat to the island, a boat trip to the piscine di Molara and to the beach of Porto Taverna or the rubber boat hire to explore the amazing islands Piano and Isola dei Cavalli by yourself.

If you are interested in history you should not miss to walk along the path “Romeo e Giulietta di Paulesa”. The trail starts in Trudda and leads you to the hundred year old oak tree of Paulesa, witness of the love story between two teenagers whose families were enemies like in the famous drama of Shakespeare.
