Behind the scenes of tourism: how a seaside residence in Sardinia works!
Preparing for the season
In short: The tourist season begins months before the first guests arrive.
Every tourist facility in Sardinia, such as our Residence Hotel Lu Nibareddu, begins preparing for the season as early as January. Renovations, maintenance, hiring and supplies are planned.
Every detail is planned with care and a sustainable vision: from painting the walls with eco-friendly paints to efficient control of the water system, from optimising Wi-Fi for remote working to maintaining beach equipment made from recyclable materials. We also take care of aspects such as internal traffic flow to ensure safe routes, low-energy lighting management and signage to enable easy and safe movement around the residence. In addition, periodic checks and thorough sanitisation of common areas and accommodation are carried out to ensure hygiene, comfort and peace of mind for all guests.
Every year, we devote time and energy to renovating rooms and apartments, following styles consistent with traditional Sardinian architecture and using natural materials such as wood, granite and wrought iron. The restyling work maintains the authenticity of the place, but introduces modern comforts and sustainable solutions. This constant commitment guarantees environments that are always well-kept and welcoming, balancing tradition and innovation.
Behind every room, teamwork
In short: Cleaning and maintenance require constant coordination and training.
Housekeepers, maintenance staff, receptionists and technicians form an invisible but essential network. A typical day can include up to 50 technical interventions and hundreds of small checks.
Seaside apartments require constant maintenance and great attention: salt, wind and humidity require continuous checks on systems, fixtures and furnishings. Every detail, even those that guests do not see, must be taken care of with precision to ensure comfort and safety.
Hygiene and hospitality standards are checked with daily checklists and inspections, and staff are trained to respond quickly in any situation, ensuring a flawless stay in a natural, seaside setting that requires experience and dedication.
Energy, water and waste: concrete sustainability
In short: Sustainable management reduces costs and protects the environment.
To make sustainability a tangible value, at our Residence Lu Nibareddu, a significant portion of the energy for hot water comes from solar thermal panels, while electricity is also produced by new-generation photovoltaic systems. The property is equipped with charging stations for electric vehicles, and the use of electric vans for internal services reduces emissions and noise, improving environmental comfort.
Water consumption is optimised through automatic irrigation systems, lighting uses low-consumption LED lamps and most waste is sorted for recycling. Consumption is monitored every season to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact, confirming a concrete and constant commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism.
In addition to structural interventions, daily initiatives are implemented to raise awareness among guests and staff. Guests are actively involved in waste sorting with dedicated recycling areas and clear instructions to promote responsible behaviour during their stay. In addition, information and small tips are provided to encourage water saving, such as reusing towels or using water consciously. These actions create a shared culture of sustainability, where everyone contributes concretely to respecting the environment. Collaboration with local companies also reduces transport-related emissions and supports the local economy.
Hospitality: human values
In short: Behind the technology, there is always a person.
From reception to the kitchens, every department experiences the season as a team. Many employees return year after year, bringing their knowledge of the place and their bond with the guests. This is the secret of a structure that “works”: relationships, not just processes.
The values that unite the team are hospitality, passion and professionalism: every member of staff shares the same goal, to welcome guests with a smile and offer quality service. Collaboration and mutual respect foster a peaceful working environment, where personal motivation translates into positive experiences for every guest.
Residence Lu Nibareddu is made up of a team that works in perfect synergy: from the reception to the BBQ restaurant, to the Tavernetta, Tavernetta Beach and Jaga. Each department is like a well-oiled machine that works with the others towards a single common goal: guest satisfaction. This constant and harmonious cooperation is what makes it possible to offer a complete, welcoming and quality stay.
