Bike excursions, our active holidays!

Active bike holidays in northern Sardinia: from the most beautiful beaches to the natural waterfalls of Monte Nieddu, from the old stazzi paths to nearby archaeological sites.

Holidays in Sardinia are not only sea and relaxation but also sport, excursions, outdoor activities and lots of fun. One of the most beautiful and most popular active holidays in recent years are certainly those in which you go cycling.

This part of Gallura reaches from the sea to the hinterland with breathtaking natural spectacles. Within our residence you can plan your entire holiday from your stay to the excursions. In fact, there is the bike4more.it rental and excursion centre, which has been based in our village for a few years now and offers various types of services ranging from bike rental, assistance, organisation of excursions and more. The bicycles available are varied and for all levels: from race to mtb, from e-bike to touring.

The 7 Beaches

The first proposed excursion is to Capo Coda Cavallo from where we set off to visit the most beautiful beaches including Lu Impostu and Cala Brandinchi. Recommended bikes: MTB, race, touring bike or e-bike. The route takes about 4 hours for a distance of 40 km with low difficulty. Heading north, you reach the summit of Monte Petrosu (350 m), from where you can admire the entire bay and the fantastic Island of Tavolara. Afterwards we descend in the direction of Porto Taverna to visit the beaches of Cala Girgolu (famous for the turtle) and the beautiful Porto Taverna itself!

Monte Nieddu

The second excursion is to Monte Nieddu, just behind San Teodoro, where the spectacle of nature continues. From the enchanted beaches we ride to waterfalls and natural pools, peaks from which you can admire a breathtaking panorama and beautiful routes marked by centuries-old oak trees. Recommended: MTB and e-MTB bikes. The route takes about 4.5 hours and is 35 km long. High level of difficulty.

The Castle of Pedres

The fourth and final excursion is all about the history of Sardinia. We travel 15 km on very easy dirt and asphalt roads until we reach two important archaeological sites such as the Tombs of the Giants (a complex from the Nuragic period consisting of a main stone, elongated in shape, with a small hole at the base, which is at the centre of a lower row of stones. Behind the largest stele is a kind of corridor, a sacred area reserved for sacrifices and votive offerings) and the castle of Pedres (built between 1296 and 1322 during the period of Pisan-Aragonese domination, during the rise of the Visconti, which acted as a sentinel of the Gulf of Olbia). Recommended bikes: race, touring bike and e-bike. Distance 40 km, medium-low difficulty.
