Dog beaches and pet friendly Residence Hotels in North Sardinia

In Italia there are about 60 millions pets half of them dogs so the request for pet friendly public spaces has increased.

The sardinian politicians made a law in 2016 and decided that each municipality at the sardinian coast has to dedicate an area for the dogs and their owners.

The dog beaches offer a lot of services like: vet service, dog grooming, dog toys etc. Dogs are admitted only if you respect e few rules: you have to bring with you the dog leash, the pet health certificate and don’t forget to pick up your dog’s poop. Please be aware ! You could face fines from 100 tu 1000 Euro if you take your dog to beaches where it is not admitted.

Many hotels and resorts are pet friendly. Cats and dogs are accepted paying a supplement but you have to follow a few internal rules. Dogs must be kept on a leash and you have to bring the dog muzzle with you.

There are 2 beaches in North Sardinia only a few kilometers far from our Residence Lu Nibareddu between Porto San Paolo and San Teodoro and easily reachable by car.

Costa Caddu beach

Costa Caddu is the nearest beach and it is located in San Teodoro. 15 kilometers far from our apartments in Porto Taverna you find the dog beach Costa Caddu for dogs and their owners. You have to bring with you the dog leash, the pet health certificate and don’t forget to pick up your dog’s poop !

Le Saline beach

The second beach is 20 minutes by car from us in the south of Olbia and is called Le Saline. The beach is long and not crowded and a perfect spot for kitesurfer and windsurfer. You have to bring with you the dog leash, the pet health certificate and don’t forget to pick up your dog’s poop!
