From Lu Nibareddu to Rio Pitrisconi: An excursion on two wheels !

If you are staying in our village Lu Nibareddu, one of the excursions you absolutely must consider is the one by bicycle to Rio Pitrisconi. A trip that will take you to discover hidden corners and breathtaking views of the island

The start of the adventure

The trip starts directly at the village bike centre, where you can rent a bike (several choices between ebike, MTB etc.) complete with helmet and safety equipment. After a hearty breakfast at the BBQ restaurant and setting the GPS for Rio Pitrisconi, the adventure begins.

Via the SS 125 towards San Teodoro, we reach the hamlet of Budditogliu, from where the climb to the summit begins.

The Magic of Rio Pitrisconi

The excursion starts with a nice ride up to the Paladimonti lookout point along a dirt and cemented path, but still in good condition. From this 615-metre altitude, an unparalleled panoramic view can be enjoyed: the island of Tavolara, the beaches of La Cinta, Lu Impostu and Cala Brandinchi are revealed in all their beauty. After a short stop and refreshment, the adventure continues towards the fascinating Rio Pitrisconi waterfalls and its natural pools. Although water may be scarce at certain times of the year, the majesty of the landscape never disappoints. Once here, it is possible to continue on foot for about 10 minutes to get closer to the waterfalls and the natural pools, a breathtaking landscape made of limestone water that ploughs through the Sardinian granite rock to finish its course in rock cavities created over millions of years, giving us natural swimming pools today!

After a refreshing swim, you can stop in the shade of tall trees or head back to the lookout for a picnic lunch overlooking the sea!

Return to Villaggio Lu Nibareddu:

The return is always via State Road 125 and the village of San Teodoro where you can perhaps stop for an aperitif on the Cinta beach before returning to the village for a refreshing shower and a swim in the pool!

Sardinia has a thousand faces, and a bicycle excursion from Lu Nibareddu to Rio Pitrisconi allows you to discover some of its most evocative corners. A combination of physical activity and unspoilt nature is one of the best ways to spend a holiday made not only of relaxation but also of movement and fun.
