Holidays and Sustainability: Eco-Friendly stays in our village Lu Nibareddu!
A stay of sea, relaxation, sports and leisure activities, good food, all in harmony with nature!
In recent years, more and more travellers are choosing to adopt a sustainable lifestyle even during their holidays, looking for destinations and facilities that respect the environment. In our village between San Teodoro and Porto San Paolo, located in the enchanting nature of the Gallurese countryside and sea, we try to adopt the philosophy of eco-sustainability as much as possible, offering our guests the opportunity to experience a responsible holiday, without giving up comfort and fun.
Respect for the environment: a priority!
Nestled in the Mediterranean maquis on the top of the Monte Petrosu hill, 2 minutes from Porto Taverna beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact through various green initiatives. From reducing energy consumption to responsible water management, from the use of renewable energy to waste recycling, from mobility to guest awareness.
Saving energy and using renewable energy.
We try to minimise fossil energy consumption through green and innovative tools and an important and constant focus on waste. In fact, our village is equipped with both photovoltaic systems totalling almost 200kw and solar panels located throughout the facility with a total of almost 5000 litres of water heated by the sun. We also use mostly low-energy devices installed in all common areas and accommodation.
Managing water resources
In Sardinia, we are unfortunately aware of the importance of water given the drought-prone summers that loom each year. We are constantly striving to ensure a safe and waste-free irrigation and water supply system in the flats, as well as to promote a conscious use of water among our guests, providing tips on how to reduce waste. We also do not use any pesticides or herbicides to care for the greenery throughout the property (fruit and native trees and gardens).
Waste reduction and recycling
The village actively promotes recycling, with dedicated recycling stations and the use of compostable materials. All this through dedicated and simple information available to our guests in our web app conciege. In the recycling section you will find maps of the locations, how to sort, how to deposit and general information on our awareness-raising activities. Finally, our restaurants use packaging with a very high percentage of recycled paper as well as avoiding all single-use products as much as possible.
Sustainable mobility
For those who wish to explore the surroundings without environmental impact, we provide bicycles with our partner bike4more.it to move along the paths surrounding the facility, thus offering a healthy and environmentally friendly mode of transport. Furthermore, the vehicles used within the facility are predominantly electric and there are 2 electric recharging stations available to our guests.
Sardinia’s natural beauty and responsible tourism
Staying in our village means immersing yourself in a unique landscape of white sandy beaches and crystal clear sea, unspoilt surroundings and lush Mediterranean hills. We firmly believe that enjoying these natural wonders also means protecting them. That is why we encourage our guests to follow responsible tourism, including participating in environmentally friendly guided excursions and discovering nature through low-impact activities such as trekking, snorkelling or sup, windsurfing and much more.
A stay that respects the planet
At Residence Hotel Lu Nibareddu we believe that every gesture, even the smallest, can make a difference in protecting the environment. Experiencing an eco-friendly holiday not only enriches your trip, but also contributes to the preservation of the natural wonders that Sardinia has to offer.
